This month's Cafe Science is all about cosmology, the study of the history and formation of the universe. The discussion will be led by cosmologist
Amber Miller, who will talk about special telescopes designed to measure microwave light produced long before the formation of the first star and how the data they collect could could help answer the “Holy Grail” of modern cosmology—the question of where the universe came from in the first place.

Day One of your JHU experience begins by meeting some of the guys behind the awesome ACT-I-VATE, an "exclusive cabal of cartoonists...giving you free serialized graphic novels as [they] create them... Because the future of the medium depends on it." Show up and ask the guys what that's all about. Also, read their comics because they're great. You might want to spend the night at JHU, because tomorrow...
Thursday, October 11th
You're back again! Tonight's festivities begin with Steve Niles of 30 Days of Night fame, who will no doubt be in pretty high spirits because the film adaptation of his work hits next week. After he leaves an hour in, the floor will go to Stuart Moore, Joe Harris and Michael Gaydos, who are celebrating the release of their graphic novel The Nightmare Factory.
